How It Started

I started my career in arboriculture back in 1994. That was a long time ago, and I've been fortunate to work across every side of the tree care industry. From residential pruning to major land clearing, from equipment operation to the consulting side—I've seen how the work gets done and, more importantly, how it should be done.

Over those years, I earned my ISA Certified Arborist credential. But credentials alone don't drive a business. What drove it was frustration. I'd watch homeowners and property managers get caught between the careless contractor and the overpriced specialist, treated like another line item in a schedule. I decided to start Richters Tree Service so I could bring what I'd learned directly to the local communities around Albany—without the middleman, without the indifference, and with the professionalism that the work deserves.
